I am a big dork, because the highlight of my weekend was going to the yarn store (Main Street Yarn and Fibers in Watkinsville) and picking up a bunch of sport-weight Brown Sheep Nature's Spun yarn for cheap. Very cheap. 10 balls for $17.50 cheap. Right now, in addition to the hat/scarf combo for Ryan (Crimbo pressie), sweater for Buckley (Halloween costume), and hat/scarf combo for Clare (another Crimbo pressie), I started an absolutely gorgeous lace scarf for my mom. I've gotten about 24 inches done, and I absolutely love it. It's got hearts on it! And it's very very bright pink, which is my mom's favorite color. This yarn is a real pleasure to work with, too, although I may try my next project on aluminum needles instead of bamboo, since it tends to cling to the bamboo something fierce. I fully plan to go back and nab a bunch more of that yarn and do some Fair Isle experimenting.
I also ordered a bunch of stuff from knitpicks, and I cannot wait. A pattern for an iPod cozy, yarn to make two iPod cozies, 3 lace scarf patterns and the yarn to make each of them, and an extra bonus skein of yarn that I ordered without a clear project in mind...I just wanted to see what the yarn was like and get my order over $30 so I could get free shipping.
So now I've basically got all my gift-shopping done. Everyone else on my list is getting these, which I will use to bust my somewhat out-of-hand stash.
Aside from the yarn goodness, I did nothing all weekend. Or the week before. Or the weekend before that.
God, I am so dull.

Very boring to non-knitters
